About
Welcome to Saigon - Taste of Vietnam JLT, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai. Located at the Balcony Level of Lake Terrace Tower, this exquisite restaurant captures the essence of Vietnamese cuisine with its vibrant flavors and aromatic dishes.
Saigon’s commitment to using fresh ingredients and herbs shines through every plate. As highlighted by satisfied customers, the dishes evoke authenticity that is rarely found outside Vietnam. One diner, Job Jacob, praised the large portions and the quick service, stating that the food did not weigh him down, a testament to the lightness commonly associated with Vietnamese fare. Particular recommendations include Bun Cha Ga and Bun Bo Hue, both offering a delightful glimpse into the heart of Vietnamese culture.
The ambiance is another notable aspect of Saigon. Reviewers like Bảo Châu Nguyễn mention its cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of a quaint spot in Vietnam. Interestingly, this hidden gem may require some effort to find, but the experience is well worth it. The reviews consistently point out the friendly staff, many of whom are Vietnamese, enhancing the authenticity of your dining adventure.
The menu is designed with beginners in mind, offering descriptions in English that make it approachable for everyone. Dishes like Banh Xeo—a crispy Vietnamese pancake—and Beef Pho—an aromatic noodle soup—have left many patrons impressed. While reviews mention minor inconsistencies, such as an occasional oversight with customer service, the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive. The attentive nature of the staff demonstrates their desire to improve and create a welcoming environment.
What truly elevates Saigon is its dedication to providing not just food, but an experience. Customers rave about the rich flavors found in their dishes, from the tender beef in the Luc Lac to the well-prepared lemongrass chicken skewers. Even first-timers, like Andrea Maniaok, found joy in their first taste of Pho, with the restaurant’s dark, rich Vietnamese coffee rounding off the meal perfectly.
In conclusion, Saigon - Taste of Vietnam JLT is an inviting space where flavors transcend the ordinary. “ The restaurant is on the second floor so it quite hard to see if you stay at the lake level. But I can say, it's a hidden gem to explore in JLT area. I tried Bun Ca and Banh Xeo today, the portion is very fulfilling. The Banh Xeo is crispy and has a lot of filling inside, the veggies to eat with are very fresh. The Bun Ca is very tasty but it needs some improvement in the noodles and the fried fish. The noodle sometimes tastes like uncooked and the fried fish is soaked so it tastes bad, I think they should remove the fried fish from this dish, the fish cake is good enough (give me more fish cakeeee). The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and cozy, it makes me feel like I'm eating in Vietnam. The restaurant staff are very friendly, they are all Vietnamese so we spoke a lot. PS: This is my review from the second time I returned to this restaurant, I will explain why I deducted 2 stars from the review. I tried Banh Cuon this time, the portion was huge, and the plating was pretty but not value-worthy. They put very little filling so it made the fermented rice batter bland and boring even after I dipped it in the sauce. Secondly, the staff neglected me this time, there were two female staff and me in the restaurant and they talked to each other very loudly, they also talked with the kitchen staff something about their colleague's toothache. I don't mind if they want to chit chat but they should not neglect the customer. So in general, I think this will be the last time I visit this restaurant. Although the food is very good, their customer service makes me feel uneasy. If you don't mind about customer service, this is still a good restaurant. P.P.S. I read the owner (or their staff) comment on this review so I wanted to give it another chance. I ordered the Beef Pho and Tamarind mocktail this time. The mocktail taste okay, it's a simple drink we have in Vietnam so this is the highest compliment I can give. The Pho is very tasty, the portion is big even I only ordered the small Pho. Their broth taste very light but savoury. They also took my feedback into consideration and the staff came to apologise me, that's why I raised the rating 4 stars. Good work, I hope you can improve more ^^ ”
“ The beef Luc Lac was really delicious, with a tender well seasoned and cooked meat. also recommend the lemongrass chicken skewers. Their other dishes seemed great as well so I definitely recommend this spot in JLT ”
“ First time to try Pho, am i am very happy I tried here at Saigon. Their black coffee is every coffee lover's dream, dark and rich. And as a cherry on top, the service is great. Upon entering I was greeted with warm smiles by their staff. If you really want to try a good Pho and their vietnamese coffee you should really try at Saigon. ”
“ Huyen is a superstar. Great person. She was very friendly and assisted me with all of my questions with the smile. The food was good too. Would recommend this place and look for Huyen if you need good service. Will come back very soon ”
“ Very fresh food. We ate a lot without it feeling like it took a toll on our stomachs. The food focuses on herbs as you would expect with Vietnamese cuisine. Large portions for the price. Super friendly staff. Quick service. Informed us about allergens when we ordered our food. The menu describes each dish in English so it is beginner friendly. Overall, it was a great experience and felt authentic. Revisit value 10/10. Recommendations: Bun Cha Ga & Bun Bo Hue ”
“ Went back to Saigon for the second time and I’m still impressed! This time I had the pho and the serving was massive! I even had to ask if that was their small size The broth was so rich and flavorful, I honestly loved it. On my first visit, I tried their Vietnamese fried rice with iced jasmine tea and that was really good too. Staff are super approachable and attentive as well. Definitely a solid spot for comforting Vietnamese food! ”
